Notice on Health Code for China-bound Passengers (Updated November 15, 2022)

Starting from November 15, 2022, the requirement of applying for a green health code has been adjusted as follows:

1.Passenger who are going to China should take one nucleic acid test (RT-PCR test) within 48 hours before the boarding time of the direct flight to China either in Malta or the transit country(region) according to their itinerary, and apply for a green health code at https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ 

The passenger is required to show a green health code to the airline when boarding the direct flight to China, or he/she will not be allowed for boarding. 

2.Passengers should ensure that the test sampling time is within 48 hours before the boarding time of the direct flight to China as the validity period of the green code will expire 48 hours from the test sampling time. 

If the passenger chooses to apply for a health code at the Chinese Embassy in Malta, he/she should provide a negative RT-PCR test report issued by a Maltese laboratory or hospital. If the passenger chooses to apply at the transit place, please follow the relevant health code application requirements of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the transit country.

For example,if the itinerary of the passenger is Malta--Country A--China, the passenger should take a PCR test either in Malta or Country A within 48 hours before boarding the flight of "Country A-China", and apply for a  a green health code either at the Chinese Embassy in Malta or the Embassy or Consulate in the testing country A(region A). 

3.Documents required to be uploaded for health code application:    

(1) Negative Nucleic acid(RT-PCR) test result.

(2) The full Flight itinerary from Malta to China.

(3) Passport informaton page and Chinese visa or resident permit.

4.The passenger will receive a“green code”when all documents are verified.
