Updated Requirements on Covid-19 Prevention and Control for China-bound Travelers

Starting from 29 April, 2023, COVID-19 Antigen Repid Test (ART, including ART home testing kit) results are accepted for passengers travelling to China on international flights instead of PCR test. Airlines will no longer check the COVID-19 test result before boarding. Travellers are kindly advised to follow the updated requirements on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures.

Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers

1. Pre-departure test

You are required to take either an ART or a PCR test within 48 hours before boarding China-bound flights. you can fly to China with a negative test result.

2. Health declaration to China Customs

You are required to declare your negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cnor on the WeChat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or the China Customs APP.

3. Airline companies will no longer check the negative PCR or ART test results.

4. Self-protection on board

Please follow the airline's epidemic prevention requirements onborad.

5. Inspection upon Entry

You can go through China Customs by presenting your Health Declaration result. China Customs may conduct random sampling inspections and those with normal health declaration and no symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to enter border. Thosewith symptoms such as fever or abnormalities of your health declaration  shall have an epidemiological investigations and medical checks and take a sampling and testing. 

6. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control

After entry into China, you shall abide by the epidemic prevention and control requirements of the city where you stay.
