Ambassador Yu Dunhai Meets with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health of Malta

On 17th June 2022, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Hon. Mr Christopher Fearne, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health of Malta. They exchanged views on China-Malta relations and cooperation in the field of medicine and health.

Ambassador Yu said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malta. In January, President Xi Jinping had a warm phone call with President George Vella, which has charted the course for the future development of the bilateral ties. The Chinese side is ready to take the 50th anniversary as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with the Maltese side in the fields of health and traditional Chinese medicine, so as to push the bilateral relations to a new high. 

Ambassador Yu also thanked the Ministry for Health for its support of the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine(MRCTCM). He mentioned that the Center was widely welcomed by the local people and has made positive contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.

Deputy Prime Minister Fearne expressed his appreciation for the brilliant medical service provided by MRCTCM. He said that Malta is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of medicine and health for the better benefit of the two countries and the two peoples.
