Ambassador Yu Dunhai Meets with Parliamentary Secretary For Youth, Research and Innovation

On 18th October 2022, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Mr Keith Azzopardi Tanti, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation. They exchanged views on deepening exchanges and cooperation in the field of science and technology between China and Malta.

Ambassador Yu briefed Mr Tanti on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and said that, from this day forward, the central task of the CPC will be to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. To build a modern socialist country in all respects, first and foremost, we must pursue high-quality development. We will adhere to an innovation-driven development strategy, improve our innovation system, and create an open and innovative ecology with global competitiveness. This brings opportunities to strengthen innovation cooperation between China and other countries, including Malta. 

Ambassador Yu said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago, China and Malta have always promoted cooperation in various fields on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. Scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Malta are in line with the common interests of the two countries. China stands ready to promote scientific research and innovation and sci-tech industry cooperation between the two countries, expand channels for scientific and technological innovation cooperation, and continue to write a new chapter in scientific and technological cooperation between China and Malta.

Mr Tanti said that Malta is willing to work with China to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation of science and technology and synergize the scientific and technological strategies between the two countries so as to make new achievements of bilateral cooperation.
