On May 23, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai paid a farewell visit to Hon. Dr. Angelo Farrugia, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta.

Ambassador Yu thanked Speaker Farrugia for attaching great importance to developing relations with China and providing strong support during his tenure. Exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies are of great significance to promoting the development of bilateral relations and enhancing the friendship between the two peoples. China appreciates the Maltese Parliament's firm adherence to the one-China principle and its valuable support on China's core interests and major issues of concern. He hopes that the Maltese Parliament will continue to play a positive role in the development of China-Malta  relations and China-Europe relations.

Speaker Farrugia spoke highly of Ambassador Yu's contribution to promoting the development of Malta-China relations and deepening the friendship between the two peoples during his tenure. The Maltese Parliament attaches great importance to relations with China and firmly adheres to the one-China principle. He looks forward to strengthening bilateral exchanges with China, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, and promoting the continuous development of bilateral relations.
