On May 31, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai paid a farewell courtesy call on H.E. Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta.

Ambassador Yu said that during his three-and-half years of ambassadorial term, it was a great honour to witness the strong development momentum of China-Malta relations. The political mutual trust between the two countries has become more solid, and the practical cooperation has achieved many highlights. The traditional friendship between China and Malta has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples. The key to the vitality of China-Malta relations is mutual respect and equal treatment. Going forward, he believes that under the strategic guidance of the two presidents and the joint efforts of the two peoples, the China-Malta friendship will open a new chapter and continue to thrive. 

H.E. President Myriam Spiteri Debono appreciated Ambassador Yu for his contribution to Malta-China relations and said that Malta and China had established a deep traditional friendship, and the people of the two countries trust each other.
