On July 30, Charge d'Affaires Peng Yijun presided over the inauguration of a new weight loss clinic at the Mediterranean Regional Center for Chinese Traditional Medicine in Malta. The ceremony was also graced by Mr Clarence Pace, Director General of Malta's Ministry for Health and Active Ageing.

In his remarks, Mr. Peng emphasized the long-standing and cooperative relationship between China and Malta in the healthcare sector. He acknowledged the establishment of the weight loss clinic as a significant milestone in the bilateral partnership. Mr Peng highlighted that the last year marked the 30th anniversary of the Chinese medical team's presence in Malta. Over these three decades, 19 teams, comprising 114 medical professionals, have provided care to nearly 250,000 patients, thereby fostering stronger bilateral relations.

Mr Peng reaffirmed China's dedication to enhancing collaboration with Malta to support the continued development of the Mediterranean Regional Center for Chinese Traditional Medicine. He underscored that such initiatives not only promote global cultural exchange and mutual understanding but also contribute to the deepening of the friendship between China and Malta.
