On August 19, Charge d'Affaires Peng Yijun met with Maltese secondary school student Thiago Jo Said, the "Junior Cultural Ambassador" who visited China at the invitation of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. Ms Yuan Yuan, the director of the China Cultural Centre in Malta, was present.

Charge d'Affaires Peng Yijun extended warm congratulations to Thiago. He appreciated his enthusiasm for Chinese culture and encouraged him to sow the seeds of the China-Malta friendship, promote mutual learning of civilizations, and carry forward the friendship between the two peoples.

Thiago said that he was very happy to be titled a “Junior Cultural Ambassador”. The visit to China was a wonderful experience, which helped him understand China and Chinese culture better.
