Ambassador Yu Dunhai Meets with Chairman of Heritage Malta

On April 4th, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Mario Cutajar, Chairman of Heritage Malta at the Embassy. Ms. Yuan Yuan, Director of the China Cultural Center in Malta, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Chairman Cutajar stated that Malta's first Biennale will be held from March to May next year, and Heritage Malta is one of the organizers. Serving as the chairman of the Biennale, Cutajar warmly invited Chinese artists to participate in the art festival and set up a pavilion of China. He also expressed that the traditional friendship of China and Malta spans half a century, and looked back on the memorable experience of the Terracotta Warriors exhibition in Malta as well as his visit to Beijing and Xi'an in 2007. He believed that the participation of Chinese artists will be an amazing highlight of Malta's first Biennale, and he looks forward to more extensive cultural exchanges and cooperation with China.

Ambassador Yu said that culture plays a unique and important role in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. Malta's first Biennale provides a great opportunity for cultural exchanges between China and Malta. The Chinese Embassy in Malta will actively support Chinese artists to participate in this Biennial exhibition, with focus on the cooperation mechanism between China Cultural Center in Malta and Shenzhen in 2024. Together with Heritage Malta and relevant parties, the Embassy looks forward to deepening cultural exchanges, friendship and mutual trust between the peoples of the two countries through various cultural events.
