On the 6th of June 2023, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Mrs Michelle Muscat, president of the National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support-Malta, and the Maltese man with a rare condition who received treatment in China and his family members.
Mrs Muscat said that with the assistance of the Chinese embassy in Malta, the National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support-Malta has established smooth communication with the Chinese hospital so that the Maltese man with a rare condition could go to China for treatment. The National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support-Malta is grateful for the help, which demonstrates the friendship between the two countries and peoples.
The family recalled their experience in China and said the Chinese people are hospitable and friendly. They were deeply impressed by the hospital's meticulous, thoughtful and professional medical services. Through this visit, they saw a real and prosperous China.
Ambassador Yu highlighted that the key to sound relations between states lies in amity between the people. Over the past 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the people of China and Malta have respected each other, treated each other sincerely and helped each other, and established a profound friendship. It is believed that the Maltese man with a rare condition got treated in China will become another much-told story of the people-to-people bond between the two countries. The Chinese Embassy stands ready to continue strengthening cooperation with the National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support-Malta to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
