On 16th June 2023, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with The Parliamentary Ombudsman Judge Emeritus Joseph Zammit McKeon. They exchanged views on China-Malta relations and other issues.

Ambassador Yu said that over the past 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Malta have established a solid friendship based on mutual respect and equal treatment, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples. The Office of the Ombudsman plays an important role in improving public administration and promoting social justice. The two sides could communicate more often in related fields.

Dr Joseph Zammit McKeon elaborated on the functions of the Office of the Ombudsman and expressed that the friendship between Malta and China has been deeply rooted and strengthened over time.
