On March 10, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Malta Zhang Zuo attended and delivered remarks at the annual exhibition of the "Science China Corner" at St. Margaret College Secondary School. Over 40 guests, including Director-General Mary Scicluna of the Ministry of Education of Malta, as well as teachers and students from the "China Corner", were present at the event.

Ambassador Zhang expressed his hope that the youth of China and Malta will deepen their historical awareness that has grown stronger over time, and act as new envoys in carrying forward the traditional friendship between the two peoples; stimulate a vibrant sense of striving, and act as companions in the pursuit of Chinese modernization; foster a closer affinity through people-to-people connectivity, and act as promoters of mutual understanding and amity between the two countries; and shoulder the mission of pulling together on our shared planet, acting as a vital force for a shared future for mankind. President Xi Jinping cares deeply about the exchanges between the youth of China and Malta, and has sent a cordial reply letter to the teachers and students of the "China Corner". It is hoped that the youth of both countries, guided by the spirit of the reply letter, will embark together on a new voyage of China-Malta friendship.

The students showcased their learning and research outcomes on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), porcelain, shadow puppetry, Yixing clay teapots, and oil-paper umbrellas. They expressed that they have gained a deeper understanding of the profound Chinese culture and stand ready to make their own contributions to tightening the bond of friendship between Malta and China.
