On 20 March 2026, Ambassador Zhang Zuo delivered remarks at an event hosted by the embassy to introduce the guiding principles of China's "Two Sessions" to Maltese friends. Guests from various sectors attended the event.

Ambassador Zhang noted that the "Two Sessions" constitute the most vivid and concentrated platform for practicing whole-process people's democracy. This year's sessions deliberated and approved the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan, set China's projected economic growth target for 2026, mapping out China's development blueprint for the next five years. China will continue to serve as the most stable engine of global growth and unleash stronger leading momentum.

Ambassador Zhang also cited H.E. Wang Yi, who stated at the the Two Sessions press conference that for China-Europe relations to stay steady and sound, it is crucial for Europe to have a correct perception of China. We looks forward to working with Maltese friends as partners in development and revitalization, promoters of openning-up and win-win cooperation, inheritors of China-Malta friendship, and upholders of peace and security, so as to carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Malta and write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation.
