Biography of Ambassador Yu Dunhai

Mr. Yu Dunhai was born in Jimo, Shandong Province in September 1973. He graduated from Renmin University of China.

Mr. Yu Dunhai joined China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) in 1998. He has served at the Department of Arms Control, MFA, and the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in the Netherlands. He has served as Counsellor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States of America(2014-2016), Counsellor and Deputy Director-General at the Information Department, MFA(2016-2020). He became Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Malta in December 2020.

He was director of the BRICS Xiamen Summit media center and director of the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit media center.
