On August 17, 2022, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Mediterranean Conference Centre Artist Director Mr Tony Cassar Darien, Residence Conductor of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Mr Michael Laus, and Concert Moderator Ms Luana Cini. They exchanged views on the preparation of the China-Malta Friendship Concert in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Mr Yang Xiaolong, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Malta, was present.

Ambassador Yu said that in the past 50 years, cultural exchanges between China and Malta have greatly promoted mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Music is the common language of mankind. The Chinese Embassy is ready to work with all parties to make the concert a fabulous art festival, making new contributions to the bilateral friendship.

The Maltese side said the concert would include Chinese and Maltese music masterpieces, which would be loved by the Maltese and overseas Chinese audiences. The Maltese side is ready to work together to make the concert a great success.
