On 27 July, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with MEP David Casa. They exchanged views on China-Malta relations and China-EU relations.

Ambassador Yu said that China and Malta enjoy sound and stable bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties more than 50 years ago. The two countries have always respected each other, treated each other as equals to achieve win-win outcomes. China is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Malta on issues of common concerns and promote bilateral relations to a new high.

Ambassador Yu said that China regards Europe as a crucial power in the multi-polar world and supports the EU to play an active role in international affairs. China and the EU have no conflict of fundamental interests, and our common interests far outweigh differences. He expects China and the EU to enhance mutual trust, exchanges and cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and to promote a sound and steady development of China-EU relations.
