On February 2, Ambassador Yu Dunhai was invited to attend the Chinese New Year celebration banquet hosted by the Malta China Friendship Society. Over 100 guests attended the event, including Mr. Reno Calleja, President of the Malta-China Friendship Society, Mr. Kevin Mahoney, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Heritage, Arts and Local Government etc.

Mr. Calleja said that the Malta China Friendship Society is committed to promoting people-to-people friendship between the two countries and welcomed the guests to celebrate the Spring Festival, taste the Chinese food and feel the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Ambassador Yu expressed gratitude to the Malta-China Friendship Society for its role as a bridge and its contribution to the people-to-people friendship between China and Malta. Since the establishment of our diplomatic ties 52 years ago, our bilateral relations have made great progress, and our practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, which have truly benefited the two peoples. We look forward to deepening our friendship in the year to come and further promoting our people-to-people connectivity.
