On February 9, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai and H.E. President George Vella attended an event held at Grand Hotel Excelsior to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Hon. Ian Borg, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Hon. Stefan Zrinz0. Azzopardi, Minister for Lands and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, among others, attended the event.

H.E. Ambassador Xu expressed his appreciation to H.E. President George Vella for his commitment to developing China-Malta relations. Our bilateral relations has made big progress and yielded fruitful results based on mutual respect and equal treatment. China looks forward to working together with Malta in the building of a community with shared future for mankind and contributing to an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

H.E. President George Vella extended his kind new year wishes to the Chinese people and overseas Chinese in Malta. He said that the cooperation between our countries have greatly benefited the two peoples and key to our bilateral relations is our people-to-people tie and longstanding friendship.
