On 29 May 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Malta hosted a reception themed “Melodies of Home, Beauty of China.” More than 100 members of the Chinese community in Malta and representatives of Chinese enterprises attended the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhang Zuo noted that China’s 15th Five-Year Plan will not only chart the country’s future development but also create new opportunities for China–Malta cooperation and overseas Chinese communities. He encouraged members of the Chinese community in Malta to take the Global Civilization Initiative as their guide and continue serving as builders of mutual understanding between China and the world, bridges of friendship between China and Malta, facilitators of practical cooperation, and active supporters of national reunification. He reaffirmed that the Embassy will continue to serve and support the Chinese community in Malta and provide assistance for their development and success.

During the reception, renowned guqin musicians Li Pengpeng and Zhang Meng performed a selection of traditional masterpieces. Through the timeless and elegant sounds of the guqin, they showcased the richness and enduring appeal of China’s fine traditional culture, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the evening.
