On June 29, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo visited Malta Fish Farming Company (MFF), located in Marsaxlokk, Malta.

Mr. Ellul, Chairman of MFF, briefed Ambassador Zhang on the company's operations and expressed hope to further expand fisheries cooperation between Malta and China and to tap deeper into the potential of the Chinese market.

H.E. Ambassador Zhang stated that working with Chinese partners means working with opportunities. With bluefin tuna as a key focus, the prospects for advancing high-end fisheries cooperation between the two countries are broad. China welcomes Maltese enterprises to increase trade exchanges with China and believes that, on the basis of cooperation documents such as the agreement on the export of wild tuna from Malta to China and the protocol on market access for bluefin tuna, the development of full-industry-chain cooperation in fisheries will continue to support deeper bilateral cooperation in the marine economy.
