On June 5, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo attended and delivered remarks at the award ceremony of the 16th Edition of the China Cultural Centre Art Competition. Also present were Dr. Alice Micallef, Director for Early Years, Language and Humanities at the Ministry for Education; Dr. Charmaine Zammit, Officer for Arts Education; Dr. Chen Xiao, Director of the China Cultural Centre; as well as award-winning students and their parents.
Ambassador Zhang encouraged the young people of China and Malta to use their paint brushes to carry forward friendly exchanges, deepen mutual understanding and affinity, and jointly paint a bright future. He encouraged them to take art as a medium, transcending distance through color and imagination, to serve as envoys of China–Malta friendship and cultural exchange, and to promote mutual learning among civilizations.
Dr. Zammit thanked the Chinese side for building a platform for youth cultural exchange and noted that she is honored to lead award-winning students on visits to China for exchange. The Maltese side looks forward to further strengthening educational cooperation with China and to jointly build a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
